The Case of the Missing Costume

     On the night before Halloween Sawyer and his best friend Ethan went shopping for a Halloween costume. Ethan picked out a knight costume and Sawyer spotted the last dinosaur costume in the store. “Look Ethan, this costume is soooo popular there’s only one left. I must have it!,” said Sawyer. Sawyer dug deep in his pocket to get enough money to buy the costume.

      With the costumes in the bag, Ethan and Sawyer ran home to get ready for the Halloween party. Sawyer set his costume on the top of his dresser. Then he tucked in for a long cozy nap. A few hours later Sawyer heard a loud noise and woke up in a panic. Sawyer noticed that his costume had vanished!! Sawyer looked and looked everywhere but the costume was no where to be seen. Sawyer than ran over to Ethan’s house and asked him, “Have you seen my costume?” “No,” Ethan said. “Will you help me find it?,” asked Sawyer. “Absolutely,” exclaimed Ethan.

       Sawyer told Ethan the scoop on what he knew, which wasn’t much to go on. They went back to the store to make sure that they didn’t leave it behind. When they got to the store it was closed. They peeked in the windows. NO sight of the dinosaur costume.  Next, they ran back to Sawyer’s house and asked mom if she saw the large green dinosaur costume. Mom said, “No, I haven’t seen it!”

       Sawyer begins crying because he needs the costume for the party with all of his friends that begins in just a few minutes. Sawyer then opens his eyes, finds himself still in bed, and realizes it was a just a bad dream. Sawyer flies out of  bed to see what time it was and rushed to get ready for the party.

       When Sawyer and Ethan arrived at the party Sawyer and Ethan entered the Halloween costume contest. The final round was with an Alligator, Knight, Dracula, and Sawyer the  dinosaur. The judges chose the dinosaur as the winner and placed a golden medal around Sawyer’s neck. Sawyer jumped with excitement and everyone was happy for Sawyer.
